JOHN OLIVER HILLSDEN
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John (Jack) Oliver Hillsden February 11, 2022 at the age of 90, with his beloved Anne and son Wayne by his side. Jack was born November 8, 1931 in Badger, Manitoba and spent most of his youth with his family in Winnipeg.
Jack met and married Velda Roney. They resided for a few years in Saskatoon before moving to Winnipeg, where they raised their daughter JoAnn and their son Wayne. When not in Winnipeg, you could find Jack enjoying the company of his many relations in Wawanesa, Manitoba. The couple remained happily married until Velda's passing in 1975. Jack was employed by Emco Supply for many years and it was a job he thoroughly enjoyed. After retirement, he returned to the workforce at Home Depot, where he could be counted on to provide excellent customer service and helpful advice regarding household repairs and renovations.
For the past 15 years, Jack enjoyed spending time with his beloved Anne and her extended family. They shared a love of gardening and, pre-pandemic, their regular walks and coffee with friends.
Jack is survived by his children, JoAnn and Wayne, and his granddaughter Sarah. He is also survived by his sister Ruth and his brother Allen.
Whether he was spending time on the golf course, fishing, hunting, or dreaming of cruising in a '55 Ford Fairlane, Jack was a friend to everyone he crossed paths with, always giving of himself to friends and family. His warm smile and quick wit will be missed.

Anne, JoAnn, Wayne, So sorry to hear of Jack's passing, he has been a good friend for over 50 years. Both JoAnn and Wayne worked for me, many years ago. Jack and I met when he was on the road in North West Ontario with Emco. Over the years he helped me with many plumbing related problems, a man of great integrity, will miss you Jack. - Posted by: John Spence (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2022
