March 17, 1937 – February 27, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alex (Paddy) McLellan on February 27, at the age of 84 years.
He was the dear husband of Eleanor; loving father to Heather (Robin), Robert (Jacquie), Wendy (Bruce), Brent (Tara) and James (Roxanne); loving grandpa to Cassidy, Lindsay, Dylan, Kristin, Claire, Adrien and Elianne; loving brother to Signe (Gerry) and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
We are so grateful to all the Healthcare Professionals for their care, kindness and understanding which provided so much support to our family:
The lady who answered my 911 call;
The two Lady Paramedics;
The four Firemen;
Dr. Ade (our Family Doctor) who was with us in the hospital;
Nurse Alanna and the staff at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli;
Marlene, Gimli Public Health Nurse;
Matthew, continuing case care coordinator, Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.
A celebration of Paddy's life will be held in the summer.

Paddy was a brilliant man in intellect, heart, and spirit. He was an intense conversationalist, but a very gentle soul. If he raised his voice, it was not in rage but in enthusiasm for a point of fact or a punchline for a witty quip. I grew up watching he and my dad tackle some of the deepest conversations, and as a “grown up” I had the pure joy of witnessing Paddy and my hubby enjoy similar conversations.
