BARRY ANTONIUS
We lost our Captain...
Peacefully and surrounded by family, Barry passed away on February 26, 2022.
He leaves behind his loving wife Leslie; daughters, Kim (Tim), Carrie (Clarence), and Kris (Mike); stepchildren, Jason (Bobbi) and Danielle (Steve); grandchildren, Jack and Ellie; Brandon (Gabrielle) and Breann; Cohen and Milo; Halie and Taven (Kristin); Walker and Avery; and siblings, Tim and Pat (Mal).
Barry truly lived life, following his heart into wild adventure as Captain of many vessels on various rivers, lakes and oceans, dragging along as many family and friends as he could.
Our Captain was docked for a while, but his ship has now set sail again. He will be greatly missed. Please raise a glass in our Captain's name as he navigates his next journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba are welcome.
We thank the staff at Grace Hospital, and his caregiving team; special thanks to John and Marlena. Barry loved hosting a good party, surrounded by family and friends; with this in mind, a private Celebration of Life will be held this spring.
Family and friends may read the full obituary and are welcome to sign
a book of condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca.

To Leslie and family, I worked with Barry at Oracle in the late 90’s. His calmness, direction and generosity impressed me. I remember with fondness a New Year’s at your bed and breakfast on Westgate – John and Diane Frazer - Posted by: John Frazer (co-worker) on: Mar 10, 2022

I did not know Berry long, but he touched my heart. He was so kind, and caring, and funny, he still laughed. Leslie did an amazing job with his care. I will miss Berry and Leslie, and our weekends together. Walking around hand in hand, at the beginning he walked me around by my id tag. Many condolences to Leslie and all the kids and grandkids family and friends. Thanks for letting me help with such a great guy. He is missed by me every weekend. - Posted by: Beckie (Weekend caregiver ) on: Mar 09, 2022

Barry's charismatic personality, his engaging smile and a zest for life made Barry one of those people you are inclined to never forget. Barry truly was the captain of his ship and seemed to sail through life. Cathy and I first met Barry in 1969 while working at Gestetner and shared a lot of memories of happier times together. Although we left Winnipeg almost 50 years ago, our paths continued to cross. The last occasion was 5 summers ago when I got to join Barry and Leslie for a cruise down the Red River. Now after hearing of Barry's passing it reinforces the importance of keeping in touch with friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Leslie and family at this most difficult time. Blessings, Cathy & Gerry Pestun. - Posted by: Gerry Pestun (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2022

My condolences to Leslie; Barry's children; grandchildren; and his family. Barry was a kind and generous gentleman. When speaking with him you knew you had his full attention. And the fearlous curling team of Barry (at the helm), Ken, Don and Wilf (my husband) provided many hours of entertainment. Not only were they competitive with opposing teams but with each other! I do remember the times of dinners and get togethers with Barry & Leslie. I know the whole famiy will miss their SKIPPER. He was loved and liked by all.
