DORIS ORCHYK

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Doris Orchyk on March 2, 2022.
She is survived by husband Don; sons, Jason and Marc (Mardy); and sisters, Louise, Marcie and Yvonne.
Doris had a generous and caring nature, which led her into a lifelong career in nursing, from front line to teaching. She volunteered with many community organizations, her church and sponsoring children with World Vision. She was always passionate about social issues, injustices, and the environment.
She was a vibrant and active person (including member of Grey Hares), traveling, gardening, the Arts, cycling, walking (Camino Trail) and berry picking despite her summer SAD. It was the colder months which brought joy for Doris, like a cloud had lifted.
Her love for others was evident through her cooking and sharing of food with family and friends. Her Ukrainian celebrations and traditions will be greatly missed. Raise a glass of Oban in memory of her. We will miss you, Doris.
