GILBERTE FRIESEN
(DESORCY) (nee GAGNON)
April 14, 1941 March 5, 2022
Gilberte Friesen (Desorcy) (née Gagnon), devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family in the early hours of a beautiful and still winter morning at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary.
She was a loving mother to Paulette (Paul), Lorraine (Robert) and Gisèle (Dan) and a kind and caring grandmother to Don (Crystal), Jason (Christina), Carlie, Kyle (Renae), Roman (Megan), Julien and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family was priority for Mom. She loved being with family, especially the large Gagnon gatherings, where countless joyous and some sorrowful occasions were shared and celebrated. Here, many cherished memories were created and are still treasured. She took pleasure in travelling, gardening, cooking, bonfires, music, camping, warm summer days and appreciated fashion and interior design. Mom loved listening to story-telling, birds singing in the morning and HomeSense! She absolutely delighted in doing thoughtful acts of kindness.
We draw comfort that Mom was peaceful and ready to be reunited with her beloved Lorne, whom she missed so very much, and with her departed parents, brothers and sisters, after her brave acceptance of an advanced ovarian cancer diagnosis. She will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Dulcina Hospice at St. Marguerite Manor in Calgary or Ovarian Cancer Canada.
