LOUISE LAURA DILK
Louise Laura Dilk passed away peacefully on March 5, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital with family by her side at the age of 76. She will be forever in the hearts of her family; daughter Liana Turanski (Terry), sons Donnie Parsons (Andrea) and Chris Parsons (Karen) and her 7 grandchildren; Mathew, Daniel, Taylor, Cailey, Sarah, Abby and Evan. She is survived by her siblings Lloyd, Judy (Johnny), Dianna (Frank), Jane (Wayne), Audrey (Gord) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Val and Frieda Dilk, brother Ken and sister-in-law Dorothy.
She was born in Neepawa on August 31, 1945. One of seven children growing up on the farm in Waldersee. She shared countless memories of life on the farm. What the family lacked in possessions they made up for with love. The house was always full, as were their bellies and the chores plentiful.
For many years mom worked at Jack Berger and Jostens until her retirement. During these years she made many lifelong friends with whom she remained close.
Her passion was spending time with family and friends, may it be dinner or movies, trips or events, or just meeting for coffee, Louise was your willing partner.
Her hobby was shopping and her style uniquely hers. Granny was admired for her "hipness" and keeping up with the trends. She loved taking care of her home and enjoyed her garden. Louise had an eye for detail and an obsessive need to have things "just so".
She was extremely quick witted and could banter with the best. She found humour in herself and would often share her ridiculous experiences that would have us all laughing.
Complaining was not an idea that Mom entertained. Upbeat and positive and "What do I have to complain about?" was her mantra. She was content.
Louise was a source of strength and support to everyone. She would always have an ear to listen and would provide "good" advice whether you wanted it or not. "If it was me...." She was in such great demand, you could be met with a busy signal as she was forever talking to friends and family on the phone.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mom eagerly awaited the birth of every grandchild; babies were her favorite. She would spend hours holding and loving each of them, with socks on under their sleepers of course. She followed them through their activities and accomplishments, and most importantly, was their friend. She always made time for them and let them know they were deeply loved.
Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date as per her wishes. If desired, donations in Mom's memory can be made to a charity of your choice. We would like to thank the ICU staff at St. Boniface hospital for the care provided to our Mom.
"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."

In this time of great sadness, looking back on beautiful memories made can provide peace and comfort. Losing a parent can feel like losing a part of yourself and while the grief will last forever, so will your mother (mother-in-law, grandma) in your heart. With heartfelt sympathy, our hearts go out to your family. ❤️🙏🌸 - Posted by: Angelo, Pamela Iezzi & Family (Friends) on: Mar 14, 2022

We wish to send out love to the entire family. Mom & Dad (Aunty Gail & Uncle Harold) recall so many wonderful, loving memories of Louise on the farm and when Donnie, Leana and Chris were young children. Deepest condolences to all the family. Louise worked for me at Jack Berger Ltd. We affectionately called her “Weezie”. She was a great person to work and had an awesome sense of humor. She was one of “Neil’s Angels”, and now she is a real angel. I have a group photo of the Jack Berger gang taken in 1976 which I would love to share - Posted by: Neil Mackie (Co worker) on: Mar 13, 2022

We are so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. We lived across the back lane from your Mom for many years and had numerous conversations with her. When I was able I use to snow blow her sidewalk and driveway and every Christmas received a gift as a token of her appreciation. She was such a nice Lady. Will miss her. - Posted by: Brian and Georganne Hoel (Neighbors) on: Mar 12, 2022

My wife and I worked with Louise at Jack Berger many years ago. Many years passed after those days but we reconnected with Louise only 2 years ago. We had lunch a few times and talked about everything under the sun. We are so happy we reconnected and our thoughts and prayers go out to her entire family. I worked with Louise at Jostens for 22 years. She was a witty, funny, smart, caring person. Although I left there we remained friends. We got together with Patti Glesby and Tracy Puddicombe for monthly dinner dates. We shared so many stories and laughed till we cried. I am still in shock she is gone. I will never forget her. She is forever in my heart. Heaven has gained an Angel . Rest in peace my friend. Love you ♥️♥️🙏🙏 - Posted by: Susan Kirton (Friend) on: Mar 12, 2022
