RONALD (PEANUTS) MROZIK

January 20,1931 - November 20, 2021

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our dad, Ronald 'Peanuts' Mrozik on November 20, 2021 at Tuxedo Villa at the age of 91.
He was predeceased by his wife Beverley Diane; his parents, Joseph and Teenie; his brother Johnny. He is survived by his three children, Ronald Allan, Brian Keith, and Cynthia-Joy.
Dad was employed with the Federal Government for 36 years, but his passion was entertaining people with his music. Our dad may be gone, but his music lives on in many hearts who heard him and danced to many of his Ukrainian polkas and waltzes. 'Peanuts' picked up the fiddle at the young age of nine years old and the rest is history. Playing the fiddle came natural to him and he was very gifted and talented. By the time dad was in his late teens, he travelled all through Canada playing at various venues. His most memorable time he shared with me was when he had the opportunity to play along side with Hank Snow on CKY live radio. Dad was 17 years old at the time. When he was 16 years old he played with the Patterson Playboys. Dad's 75 year career as a musician is recognized all through Manitoba. Saturday afternoons on CJOB live radio, as part of the popular Western Hour, hosted by George McCloy and later dad joined the Canadian Wagonmasters. Dad also performed with Porky Charbonneu on CKY live radio. In the late 1980's, dad was on the televised Western Hour with Red Wine hosted by the late Len Fairchuk.
Dad was known as 'Peanuts' by everyone. Dad had played in various bands and was well known in Transcona at the Royal George Hotel in the late 80s an 90s.
During his career, Dad competed in numerous fiddling contests, recorded albums, playing at weddings, numerous clubs, social engagements, banquets, New Years Eve at the Convention Centre.
Dad started to slow down and limited his playing for Legions around Winnipeg, Morden Corn and Apple Festival, small engagements with Neon Blue in small towns in Manitoba and entertaining people at various Personal Care Homes. Dad sadly hung up the fiddle at the age of 86 years old. His music will live on...he is truly missed by so many.

Love you Dad.

Thank you to the staff at Tuxedo Villa for caring for our dad. Thank you to Ethical Death Care for their patience and helping us through this difficult and sad time.

BEVERLEY DIANE MROZIK
(MOSIONDZ)

December 15, 1933 - March 29, 2011

Peacefully in her sleep, with a beautiful smile on her face our beautiful mom, my best friend went Home to be with Jesus on March 29, 2011 at Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 77.
Predeceased by her parents; John and Sophia; brother Paul; sisters; Pauline, Mary, Nellie and Elsie. Survived by her three children, Ronald Allan, Brian Keith, and Cynthia-Joy.
Mom was born on a very cold evening in Fraserwood, MB by a midwife on the farm. She shared so many stories about growing up on the farm with Baba and Gigi. I cherish each story she shared with me.
When mom was 14 years old, she came to Winnipeg by herself with only 25 cents and the Winnipeg Free Press to apply for a nanny position in Garden City. She wanted to start fresh! She got the position as a nanny and worked for the couple for four years. Mom had numerous jobs; modelling; bookeeping; candy girl at two movie theatres and bookeeping. She loved making new friends and got along with everyone she met!
Our home was always opened to many stray cats that seemed to 'follow' me home. She would always take them in and keep them until we found a home or we would keep them. Mom was always known to my friends as 'mom'; who came over for many sleepovers; a listening ear; and her yummy Ukrainain cooking. She was an excellent cook and she was great to put something together in a hurry for unexpected company! She was always prepared.
She was generous to a fault and often went without in order for others to have what they needed. Mom's heart was made with gold. Her smile would light up the the whole room. She always knew the right words to use to comfort you and her hugs made everything better. Her laugh was very contagious, especially when we would do practical jokes on each other. The bond my mom and I shared will last forever. We aways knew what each of us were thinking, we were like one. My Heart, My Best Friend, My Mom...I will miss her terribly. But she is with Jesus and no more pain. "Mom, I miss you, until I see you in our Heavenly Home and like we would say to each other, I'll phone you when I get home', Now I will say..."I will see you when I get Home".
I would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for their care for my mom and would also like to thank Cropo Funeral Chapel for their support as well.
