FRIEDA GARVIN
(nee VOTH)
March 6, 1932 - March 11, 2022
Wife of the late Roy James Garvin. Devoted mom to Mary Garvin and proud grandma to Anita and Luken. Frieda was the last surviving sibling from the children of the late Gerhard and Katharina Voth; Abe (Anne), Kathe, John (Nelly), Pete (Betty), Elvira, and Rudy (Kay) Voth. She will be remembered fondly by Betty and Kay Voth, her dear sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews too many to name here who are spread across the whole country, especially the Niagara area, Steinbach Manitoba, and Abbotsford area in British Columbia.
She has been well loved in the Smiths Falls community since 1969, when she married Roy and moved here. Long-time member of the First Baptist Church, choir member, and Sunday school music leader; Happy Times Nursery School teacher; food bank volunteer; many long standing friendships within the New Testament Church in Perth, Smith Falls Free Methodist, Smith Falls Pentecostal, and Rideau Christian Fellowship of Perth. Always eager to strike up a friendly conversation or pet a dog on her long walks around town.
Celebration of Life service is planned for Monday, March 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Rideau Christian Fellowship of Perth (8 Craig Street, Perth) with a visitation preceding the service between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m.
Frieda would be pleased if donations were made to the Bill Prankard Evangelistic Association, Arctic Hope Project in her name.
