SHIRLEY JEAN WHELEN
Shirley J. Whelen was born September 25, 1925, Treherne, Manitoba. Passed away peacefully at Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Home, Saskatoon on March 11, 2022.
She was the eigth child of nine children to Lloyd and Edith Fumerton (Doug, Alma, Keith, Isobel, Willard, Grant, Robert, Shirley and Gwen). Shirley married Ray on June 10, 1949, moving to Kinistino in 1951. Shirley worked for the Kinistino School Division for 35 years and helped Ray with the farm. In 1989 they purchased a condo in Mesa, Arizona. After Ray's passing in 1995, she continued to go south, enjoying warm temperatures and visits with friends. Shirley moved to Saskatoon in 2007 spending many hours enjoying spectacular views from her condo. She made many friends throughout her life that cherished her friendship and wit. She will be dearly missed by all her family.
Graveside service March 19, 2022, Kinistino Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations can be made to Saskatoon SPCA or Kinistino Cemetery Society.
