JOHN B. JENSEN

With broken hearts, our family announces the passing of John Thorkil Bech Jensen on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jenny; son John; son Tracy and daughter Shelly; stepson Jamie; grandsons, Mason, Reese, Chase, Carson, Connor, Rial (Kheizia), Rhett; and great-granddaughter Abigail.
John was predeceased by his parents, John and Elva; and brother Teddy, nephew Lucas. He also leaves behind his one brother, four sisters and their families: Karen (Paul), Tom (Val), Connie (John), Debbie (Gilles), and Kimmie (Glenn) and numerous nephews and nieces.
John was born February 23, 1946 and grew up in a small town outside of Copenhagen, Denmark. The family immigrated to Canada on May 21, 1957 arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax and boarding a train to Winnipeg.
John was an entrepreneur and self-man business man. His first business was a small John Deere dealership in Neepawa at age 25. He went on to grow the business, built a new shop and open a second location in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. Alongside of running an implement dealership he purchased and expanded an existing grain farm and opened a custom combining business.
In 1995 John changed his focus and purchased a Case IH dealership in Steinbach again outgrowing its original location and building a beautiful new shop. True to nature he purchased a second location in Brandon.
Around the spring of 2007 John fixed his sights on Lawson Sales in Winnipeg. This was the beginning of John's dream to build Lawson's into a stand alone Kubota dealership. John did what he did best and he fulfilled his dream by becoming the largest Kubota dealer in his territory.
John also loved spending time with his family and would often meet for breakfast, coffees or phone just to touch base and always attended any family gatherings he could. When time permitted he would spend time in Arizona with family. He will be missed by his family, friends, staff and many business associates.
A celebration of John's Life will be held on Monday, March 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Victoria Inn and Conference Centre 1808 Wellington Avenue in Winnipeg. • I just met John a few years ago, and we would often meet early morning to discuss business and all of the projects he always had on the go. He was a smart man and had a very strong work ethic. In the little time that we did know each other, I got lots of great advice and knowledge. John was generous with his time even though he was very busy. I wish I knew him a lot longer.
