At 92 and 90 years of age, after 70 years of marriage, the loving couple proudly lived independently in their condo. On February 3, 2022, there was an unfortunate fall that led to both Ron and Audrey being admitted to hospital. After 20 days of being admitted to the Misericordia Hospital, they both peacefully passed on the same day, 1 hour and 40 minutes apart as they had always hoped so they would never be apart.
Owning and operating the Grand Marais Village Store was Ron's pride and joy. He taught many family members, friends, and employees incredible work ethic with a friendly approach to running a successful company for 20 plus years.
Audrey never did quite retire from "work", she would go as often as Ron would drive her. Some days it paid, others not so much. (Hahaha!)
Family was truly everything to them, from their children, Randy (Mae) and Wayne (Sandy) to their grandchildren, Tracy, Amy, Courtney, Tyler and Patrick. They were even fortunate enough to have wonderful relationships with their great-grandchildren.
We will cherish the fun and meaningful times we were fortunate enough to share with them. They taught us what an unconditional, loving relationship looks like.
