James Herbert Measham died on January 4, 2022 of cancer.
He is survived by his sister Diana Dickson (Jack) and his nephew and nieces, Colin Dickson, Rochelle (Jared) and Kelsey (Ben).
Predeceased by his father Robert Bourke Measham (Jim), mother Lillian "Irene" Measham (nee Lougheed) and Uncle George Measham, a father-like figure in his life.
Michael Schiefer of Never Alone Cancer Foundation says, "James was the first patient I have worked with that wanted me to bring an extension cord, plugs and wire strippers to the hospital just so someone could plug in their car. James was the first guy to help you if your car broke down and the first guy to tell you to "F" off if he didn't like something you said or did."
George Rideout says, "James was a car enthusiast, always willing to help those with car trouble. He was a comic who loved the women. He was a proud man's man with a streak of stubbornness that was equal to his helpful nature."
James lived at Thunderbird Apartments for 20 years. Milka and Branislave, the caretakers, always showed great compassion. Thank you so much. Many thanks to his partner, Pris Letender and family for their years of support.
James would always start his conversations to me with, "In a galaxy far far away." May you have green lights all the way.
Cremation has taken place by Bardal Funeral Home.
