NADIA LILLIAN KOZORIS
(nee HAWRYSYSHYN)
September 29, 1927 - March 10, 2022
Mom passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on March 10, 2022, with family by her side at the age of 94.
She will forever be in the hearts of her family, daughters, Joanna (Dave), Kathy, and Elaina and her six grandchildren, Stephanie, Kevin, Leah, Alanna, Lauren and Brooke. She will also be remembered by sister-in-law Joan Harris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Antonina (Graban); husband Peter in 1982; sisters, Olga, Anne, Verna and Evelyn; and brothers, Orest, Joseph, Val, Jerry, Victor and Murray.
Mom grew up on Barber Street in Point Douglas and belonged to St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church. After marrying in 1955, she became a longtime member of Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Her career as a comptometrist ended when she became a mom, devoting her entire life to her daughters and grandchildren. She was widowed at an early age and became fiercely independent. No task was too difficult for Mom to conquer right until her passing.
Mom's passions included spending time tending to her garden, a love for baking and looking for deals in weekly grocery flyers. She enjoyed her summers out at the family cottage at Winnipeg Beach as well as watching and listening to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, cheering them on as only she could. Mom's faith guided her daily. She was a source of strength and support to many. She always had an ear to listen and provided good advice.
We would like to thank Dr. Loepp for the excellent care of our Mom and most recently, Dr. Zhou.
If desired, donations in Mom's memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
Panakhyda was held on Tuesday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m. and Parastas was Wednesday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church with Very Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel and Rev. Fr. Alan Wizinsky officiating.
"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
Eternal Memory
