VIRGINIA MAY MOODREY
1952 - 2022

The family of Virginia (Ginny) Moodrey sadly announces the peaceful passing from our world in the early hours of March 15, 2022.
Ginny will always be loved and remembered by her father Alex Moodrey, sister Trish Kelsch, nephew Jason Kelsch, niece Jennifer Kelsch and grandnephew Eden Cordoba Kelsch.
Family near and far from Gimli, MB and san Diego, CA all loved and adored her. Ginny was predeceased by her mother Mary Moodrey and brother-in-law Jonni Kelsch.
In her early years Ginny travelled Europe for six months with her girlfriend and worked in London, England for six months Ginny was going for her masters degree in psychology and sociology. Virginia took gliding lessons and at the age of 19 achieved a license from the Department of Transport to fly gliders solo. Unfortunately Ginny's illness presented itself shortly after.
Virginia was a life force. She was fiercely independent with a beautiful personality that was unmatched.
We would like to thank the staff at Lion's manor for taking good care of Ginny for the last eight years. They treated her like family. They were able to visit her the day prior to her passing.
Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held in the summer.

Friends and family are invited to visit Virginia's memorial page @interlakecremation.ca, where memories and condolences may be shared.

She was also a very good photographer and took manybeautiful photos of my eldest daughter. She will always be in my heart. My heartfelt sympathies goes out to Mr.moodrey, Trisha, Jason and Jennifer. • Virginia was a friend who often laughed. She was the most stylish girl in high school. I remember her menthol cigarettes and her comment about “we’ve come along way baby!”. Our trip to Europe was so memorable! I am sure she’s walking on a heavenly catwalk as we speak. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Valerie Arklie (Girsbrecht) (Friend ) on: Mar 25, 2022

  • My deepest sympathies for the loss of your daughter. May the memories she created in the lifeforce she was, guide you and your family going forward. Your daughter's intelligence, striking beauty and her kind heart brought many much happiness. Allow it to live on in each of you, who are close to her. She lives with angels in much deserved peace. You and your family are in many thoughts and prayers. Know that you are not alone as your continued strength and courage are called upon in very challenging times, as you endure indescribable pain and grief. We are reminded, that "God works in mysterious ways. His wonders to perform." William Cowper, more than several hundred years ago, wrote a hymn, "Light Shining out of Darkness", about the hidden workings of the world. If we are open to accepting in our fragility, forces greater than ourselves, we will be comforted and receive solace in God's grace in mysterious ways. - Posted by: Mary Kaine (Friend) on: Mar 20, 2022

  • I am saddened to learn of the passing of Virginia. Growing up as next door neighbours I remember Virginia as being kind and good natured. She had the most beautiful blond hair. I have memories of us playing hopscotch on the front sidewalk, playing jump rope, and splashing around in the backyard kiddy pool. I remember her taking Gliding lessons and thinking how cool that was. Now, whenever I see a glider I immediately think of Virginia. It is difficult to understand why such a beautiful person was dealt an unjust hand in life. My heartfelt sympathies are sent to Alex, Patty, and family. - Posted by: Werner Burokas (Next door neighbour ) on: Mar 19, 2022

  • It's been many years since I saw Virginia but thought of her over the years, especially when Mary and Patti came to Gimli for a visit. My deepest condolences to the Moodrey and Kelsch Family. - Posted by: Michelle Douglas (Powroznik) (distant cousin) on: Mar 19, 2022
