Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Sorry to hear of Neil’s passing. Me and my wife Sonia moved to the Beach in the late eighties and I became acquainted with Neil at the local Grand Marais community club and Curling club. I was working for Manitoba Hydro and bumped into a number of times at his cottage in Grand Beach townsite Condolences to friends and family - Posted by: Blair Sheane (Friend ) on: Jul 05, 2022

  • I am very sorry to know of Neil's passing. I first met Neil while teaching with him at King George V (Norwood School Div) some 38 years ago. It was while at Nordale School where I witnessed Neil's ability to connect with all students of all abilities. Fond memories most of his previous students would cherish is the annual June camp that Neil hosted at Grand Beach where he organized the food and activities - there was never a dull moment, even in the rain. My wife, Carla, and I had the pleasure of staying with Neil and Maureen on a few occasions. I'll miss Neil Brian Hatherly - Posted by: Brian Hatherly (Friend, teaching colleague, Nordale School ) on: Jun 13, 2022

  • Enjoyed a few years of teaching with Neil back in the 70’s in Swan River. Kept close contact with him throughout the 80’s while he was in Winnipeg. Enjoyed some good times at the beach. Was very appreciative of his generous offers to park our trailer in his yard while I attended summer school. Sincere condolences to his family from Lloyd and Linda. - Posted by: Lloyd Gilchrist (Co-worker) on: Jun 06, 2022
