DOREEN DAVIDOW

It is with profound sadness that the family of Doreen Davidow announces her passing on January 31, 2022.
Doreen (referred to as Dee by her family) was born on January 18, 1929 to Charlie and Rae Davidow and was the youngest of three children. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Harold Davidow and sister Lila Goldin. She leaves to mourn several nephews, a niece along with their families. Also left to mourn is her good friend Barbara Stillman.
Doreen worked for several companies but ultimately joined Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and retired after a long career with them.
Doreen was happiest when she was volunteering. Her service spanned many organizations such as Jewish Women International (formerly B'nai Brith Women), Hadassah, Gwen Sector Creative Living and Meals on Wheels earning her many service and fundraising awards.
Doreen loved to travel and did so with her sister as well as with Barbara. Their trips took them to many places including Europe, British Isles, Israel, Canada, USA and cruises to the Caribbean.
Burial took place at B'nai Abraham Cemetery with Rabbi Kliel Rose of Congregation Etz Chayim officiating.
Thank you to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their care during Doreen's two month stay.
The family would like to thank the pallbearers, Janna Hyman, Jackie Rittberg, Ron Rittberg, Don Rittberg, Murray Greenfield, Allan Elfenbein and Keith Elfenbein.
Donations in her memory may be made to Gwen Sector Creative Living Centre or to a charity of one's choice.

  • I WAS SADDENED WHEN LEARNING OF THE PASSING OF MY LONG TIME FRIEND Doreen, who I MET WHEN I JOINED Bnai Birth Women in Wpg. She was always a very warm and friendly person, and very family conscious. When I WAS MOVING TO Vancouver, she told me to contact her sister LILA, WHO HAPPENED TO LIVE VERY CLOSE TO MY BUILDING, AND WE ALSO BECAME GOOD FRIENDS. I WILL MISS THEM BOTH. MAY THEIR MEMORIES BE FOR A Blessing! Sadly, Esther Weinstein. - Posted by: esther weinstein (FRIEND) on: Mar 26, 2022
