MARYANNE NYKOLUK RUMANCIK

Maryanne Rumancik peacefully departed to her heavenly home while surrounded by love, prayer, and family, on March 22, 2022, at the age of 61.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Richard; children: Heather (Michael), Sarah, Nathan; grandson Noah; mother, Bernice; sisters, Chris (Karl), Grace (Keith), Paula (Con); countless extended family members, friends, and clients. She was predeceased by her father John Nykoluk.
Maryanne was a piano teacher for 25 years before obtaining a second degree in music therapy. She provided programs for seniors as well as for people living with dementia and disabilities. She had a knack for picking up any instrument and sang daily. Her artistic ability also supported her love for iconography. She had a big heart for family and was proud of her Ukrainian heritage. She was highly active in her local parish and found many other ways to donate her time. Maryanne enjoyed biking around town to chat with friends, maintaining a luscious garden and an abundance of house plants, and reading with a cup of tea every evening along with her cat Sneaky. She will be fondly remembered as a woman of strength, selflessness, friendship, and laughter, and a model for unconditional, sacrificial love.
A prayer service will be held on March 29, 2022, at Notre Dame de Lorette Parish (1282 Dawson Road), starting with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on March 30, 2022. Rosary at 10:15 a.m., Eulogy at 10:45 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Notre Dame de Lorette cemetery. A reception will follow at the Lorette Parish Hall. As fitting to Maryanne, colourful attire is welcome at both services. Masks are required.
If you would like to make a memorial donation in Maryanne's name, please consider donating to St. Amant. (stamant.ca/foundation/donate/)
The family would like to thank the Portage EMS and staff at Portage General Hospital, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff at Health Sciences Centre. We also would like to thank our friends and parish community for their support.
