Wright Edward Parker left us on February 18, 2022 at the age of 84.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Edith; children, Ed (Jen) Parker, Wendy (Jay) DesChamps and grandchildren, Mindy, Jamie (Isak), John (Rebecca), Jaelynn (Triston) and Gracynn (Justin). Wright is also survived by his sisters, Sarah Banman and Jane Horn; sisters-in-law, Lillian Murner, Evelyn (Henry) Rose, Dianne (Stan) Ferris and Charlotte (Gordon) Dyck; numerous nieces and nephews.
Wright was predeceased by his parents, John and Phyllis Parker; in-laws, Adolf and Maria Murner; brothers-in-law, Pete Banman, Cam Horn, Alvin Murner, Wally Murner; sister-in-law Sandy Murner; nephews, Kim and Orlando Banman and niece Christine Ferris.
Wright lived the majority of his life in Sanford until the fall of 2021 when he and Edith moved into Winnipeg. He was very involved in the community over the years volunteering as a Fire Fighter and on many committees.
He started working at Dorwin Industries then worked as a glazier for Pilkington Glass which became Ford Glass then AFG for most of his career, retiring in 1998. After retiring he drove school bus for the Macdonald School Division from 1998 to 2003.
Purchasing a cabin at Lee River brought Wright great joy. The gathering of his family and friends to fish, swim, tube or just spend time together was extremely important to him.
Anyone who knew Wright, knew he was a jokester. One of his favourite things to tell people was that he was always right, never wrong.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brunkild Hall, Provincial Road 305E, Brunkild, Manitoba.
Thank you for the phone calls, cards and flowers.
Anyone wishing to make a donation, please do so to the Macdonald Fire Department, Box 100, Sanford, MB R0G 2J0.
