ELIZABETH COHN

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Cohn, on March 18, 2022.
Mom was born in Contratacion, a small town in Colombia, South America on November 24, 1933.
Elizabeth lost both her parents in her early teens. She was left all alone in the world and courageously worked hard to take care of herself and survive. Elizabeth learned the meaning of happiness and unconditional love when she met Rudolf in her late teens. Theirs was true love and devotion in every sense of the word. Their happiness lasted more than 50 years as her Papi passed away in 2011. Together they raised their three children, Ingrid, Arnold and Herbert in a loving and nurturing home. The family immigrated to Winnipeg in 1982, escaping the drug cartel's indiscriminate violence. Mami and Papi loved to travel and they explored the world together in their retirement for over 30 years. Mom was a sassy and classy lady. She was very fashionable and carried herself with poise and style. Her energy filled the room wherever she was. Her reason for living was always her family and she enjoyed putting together delicious meals to share around her table and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Rudolf. She leaves to mourn her children: Ingrid, Arnold (Carla) and Herbert (Cara Helper), her grandchildren, Lizzy (David Bryngelson), Samuel, Daniel, Joey, Melanie and Tyler, also her great-grandchildren, Juliet and Victoria.
Our sincere thanks to her dear friend and family physician Dr. Ricardo Quesada, Dr. Mauro Verrelli, Dr. James Tam and the caring staff at the Grace Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery with Rabbi Anibal Mass officiating.
