HEINZ ROTHER
January 25, 1930 - March 18, 2022
After 92 years and a short term illness, Heinz Rother passed away at Jocelyn House Hospice, with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife Nowell Rother in February 1997.
Born in Breslau, Germany (now Poland), he came to Canada in the early 1950s to find a new life. Heinz trained as a master upholsterer in Germany. He worked on a farm when he came to Canada but soon started his own upholstery business - his first passion. Later his love of horses led him to establish a boarding stable and a horse transport company. Thereafter he re-engaged in the upholstery industry for The Brick for many years and continued into his late retirement years repairing furniture on his own. We will always remember the many meals at Salisbury House and Moxies that he enjoyed with his family.
He is mourned by his son Ted (Henrietta) Rother, his daughter Velvet (Wesley) Giesbrecht, grandchildren, Tiffany (Trevor) Aquin, Bryce (Heidi) Giesbrecht, Ashley (Quinn) Morris, Ted JR (Kalene) Rother, Brettany (Jonathan) Schroeder and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Grayson, Paislee and Ronan.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I worked with Heinz for many years in the furniture shop at The Brick. He was very knowledgeable & skilled at repairing furniture. I am thankful for the many repair & upholstery techniques that he taught me over the years. We joked around alot & had many laughs. I have thought of him often over the years. I am sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family whom he was very proud of. - Posted by: Kelly Penuita (Friend / co-worker) on: Apr 28, 2022

I was fortunate enough to board my horse at Golden Gate stables with Heinz. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoyed riding with Ted, and their amazing Arabian horses. I enjoyed many long talks with Heinz, he always had good advice and a caring nature. Unfortunately I lost touch with him when I moved my horse to another stable. When I think of Heinz I can't help but smile, he will be missed. Peg Thom - Posted by: Peg Thom (friend) on: Apr 15, 2022

I first met Heintz in 1978, when I moved my horse to his boarding establishment, Golden Gate stables. I have many fond memories of heights and the time I spent at Golden Gate. His passion for horses, particularly Arabians, was evident. I remember the two stallions Haji Baba, that his sonTed rode, and a beautiful chestnut, Frizan. He was a knowledgable horseman, and I spent many hours at his boarding stable. I always enjoyed our many conversations. After I moved my horse to another location, I lost touch with Heinz. I saw him years later when my son, and his grandson Ted Junior we’re graduating from Springfield collegiate in Oakbank. It was great catching up with him. My sincere condolences to Ted, Henrietta, and all of the family. - Posted by: Sharion Corr (Former boarder) on: Apr 09, 2022
