WILLIAM BARRY COOK
(Buffalo Trail)
Thursday, January 1, 1948 –
Thursday, March 24, 2022

On Thursday, March 24, 2022, William Barry Cook passed into the spirit world to be with his Creator and to meet his family and friends who left before him.
Barry is survived by three sisters, Doreen Davey, Linda Hourie and Jan Orvis-Cook.
Barry had a strong faith in God and was able to incorporate his Christian beliefs with his Indigenous spirituality. While there are too many to mention, Gloria and family are so thankful for our friends and relatives for all their wonderful help in keeping the sacred fire going for Barry as he made his transition, and for all the fond memories and funny stories shared, especially hunting, fishing trips and the fun times with the special children in his life.
There will be no funeral service at Barry's request, however a Celebration of Life will take place this summer for community, friends and family. Blessings to all who knew him!

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Barry spent time with our ICPO group (In Community Program for Ordination) as our mentor for a week. He generously shared his wisdom and spirituality in ways that will always stay with me. Blessed to have known him. - Posted by: Bonita Garrett (Friend) on: Apr 13, 2022

  • Merv could not have said it better. Bill was the nicest guy you could ever work with, stronger than an ox, he made everyone's day better. I recall seeing him with Transit before I moved to BC, he was happy. See ya soon, I'm sure. - Posted by: Ray Skrepetz (former co worker) on: Apr 04, 2022

  • Condolences to the family. I was fortunate enough to have known Bill for a few years during his employment with CN Signal Dept. I just want to say Bill was one of the most honest, hard working and pleasant people I have known. Bill was virtually a one man crew and I really missed him when he moved on. Rest in peace good friend. I will remember you. - Posted by: Merv Kruk (Former Co-worker) on: Apr 03, 2022
