BRADLEY ARTHUR KELM
1959 - 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Brad Kelm on March 3, 2022 at his home in Mexico.
Brad was born in Winnipeg on October 14, 1959 and graduated Red River Community College in Business Administration followed by a career in records management.
Brad is survived by his brother Garry Kelm (wife Dawn and children, Paige and Riley), sister Diana Meister (husband Phil and children, Nicholas, Serena and Jesse) and Aunt Eleanor Kelm, and Uncle Gerry and Aunt Doreen Beech and Mary Lewis (stepmother) along with numerous cousins.
Brad was predeceased by his mother Lorraine, father Art, Aunt Adele Lytle, Uncle Hudson Lytle and Barry Presunka (Eleanor Kelm).
Brad was heavily involved in sports throughout his life including playing touch football for the Assassins at a national level and later refereeing. Brad is a member of MB Touch Football Referee Hall of Fame. Brad was a longtime season ticket holder of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and attended many Grey Cups over the years. Brad also was a fan of the Winnipeg Jets and followed their games while in Mexico.
After retirement, Brad spent his winter months at his condo in Huatulco, Mexico. Brad had many friends in Mexico, especially the good friends in his condo community. Brad's Blue Bomber jersey and hat are retired at Brad's favorite bar/restaurant in Mexico. We need to thank Brad's good friends in Mexico and especially Sherri Moir for all her help after Brad's passing.
Brad had a zeal for life and made friends quickly to go along with his social nature.
We regret Brad's passing so young but are grateful for Brad's life among us. We remember with fondness the numerous stories while in the company of Brad.

Rest in peace Brad.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Mary-Anne and myself are very sorry to hear the news of Brad's passing. I was a friend of Brad's through touch football, time together on the Winnipeg Assassins and a few Grey Cups along the way. Will remember the great times with Brad on and off the field, you will be missed by many. - Posted by: Kevin Kotowich "KK" (Friend) on: Apr 07, 2022

  • For Garry and the Kelm family, really sorry to hear about Brad. Not just a great ref, but also a real competitor in his playing days. Brad was instrumental in me playing six years with the Assassins in the 90s. Although we hadn't crossed paths in a while, I always considered Brad a good friend on and off the field. It is sad he's no longer with us, many will be telling Brad stories for many years. Rest in peace pal. - Posted by: Dave Kelly (Friend) on: Apr 05, 2022

  • He will be sorely missed. We spent our childhoods together - Brad’s family and ours. Every summer at the cottage, every birthday, every Christmas. That smile was a constant - unless the Bombers were losing!! ❤️ - Posted by: Linda Lytle (Cousin) on: Apr 02, 2022
