JEAN MOSZYNSKI

After years of battling and overcoming health issues, our devoted and courageous mother, Jean, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 2, 2022.
Mom was predeceased by Gerald, her beloved husband of 60 years, and by her eldest child Barbara.
Adored in life, Mom will be deeply missed by her loving children, Teresa (Richard), Christine (Anthony), Michael, Robert (Maria) and grandsons, Adam and Mark, as well as Richard, Andrew, and Matthew, and her dear brother Leo in Kenora.
A farm girl at heart, Jean became the shining star of her household. The kitchen was her home, where every day she made the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Not only was dinner always exciting, but Mom created marvellous Halloween costumes for all of us from basic household materials, put together birthday parties that were the envy of the block, and baked up irresistible goodies in her tiny kitchen! She coaxed abundant vegetables out of her garden, which she loved tending along with her beautiful flowers. She found the time and energy to work as a cashier with the Hudson's Bay Company groceries. And she was also an inspiration to all of us to be the best we could be. We enjoyed her sunny outlook on life and were always amused by her unique brand of humour with witty sayings of her own invention. We will always remember them and the laughter they created.
A strong independent woman, she still looked to her husband, Gerald, to help create a wonderful childhood and home life for all of us. Our parents' selflessness and dedication knew no bounds, yet they never sought recognition or thanks.
In their retirement years, Mom and Dad enjoyed vacationing in Arizona, Nevada, and Mexico which she always remembered and spoke of fondly. She also greatly enjoyed the family cabin where she and Dad spent many weekends and holidays over the years.
Mom was a devoted and talented wife and mother who always put her family first and herself last. And she made the best pickles in all of Winnipeg!
Your work here is finally done Mom but will live on in all of us. The time has come to rest in peace. You gave us some of the best years of our lives.
May we also take this opportunity to thank the staff on St. Mary's unit at Holy Family Personal Care Home for taking good care of our dear mother and treating her like the lady she is.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering, no formal service, in keeping with Mom's wishes.
