With sadness we announce the passing of Angelo on April 4, 2022, at the age of 87 years at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.
Angelo is lovingly remembered by Marlene (nee Haarsma), his wife of 65 years; sons, Donald (Marj) and David; three granddaughters: Kelley (Alex), Katie (Mike) and Courtney (Seth); and great-granddaughter Eden.
Angelo was born on December 23, 1934 in Kenora, Ontario. The youngest of five children to his Italian immigrant parents Mario and Ida. At an early age his family moved to Bird's Hill, Manitoba. Angelo's career centred around the ownership and operation of the Transcona Fruit Home and then after the sale of the business, worked the balance of his career with the City of Winnipeg at both Kildonan and Windsor Park golf courses.
Angelo was predeceased by all of his siblings; Peppino (Olga), Raymond, Irene (Bill) and Johnny (Phyllis). Angelo is also survived by sister-in-law Shirley Binda, several nieces, nephews and many extended family.
A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Larters at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club.
We would like to express our heartfelt and sincere thank-you to all the staff at Middlechurch for their care and compassion extended to both Angelo and our family. We would also like to acknowledge and thank the numerous health care individuals that we encountered during dad's health care journey.
Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, donations can be made in Angelo's memory to a charity of your choice.
