CINDY MARIE DENISET
(nee EARLEY)

Peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, with family by her side, Cindy passed away at the age of 64 years.
Cindy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Rob, her sons, Marc (Breanna), Ian (Tassia), her grandson Austin, her sisters, Barb (Joe) and Roberta (Rob) and her brother Glen (Christine). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cindy was predeceased by her mother Edith (nee McConechy) and her father Bill.
Cindy was born in Souris, MB and grew up in Erickson, MB where her father owned the local pharmacy and her mother worked as a nurse at Erickson Hospital. After graduating from high school, Cindy moved to Winnipeg and attended Red River Community College where she graduated from Secretarial Sciences. She started work at Clarkson Gordon in 1977 where, in 1978, she met her husband-to-be whom she married in 1983.
In 1982, wanting to follow in her mother's footsteps, Cindy enrolled in the RN program at St. Boniface Hospital, graduating in 1984. Cindy worked at St. Boniface Hospital for a number of years until she was diagnosed with cancer in 1993. Cindy fought and won that battle only to have a relapse in 2002. Following a stem cell transplant in 2003, Cindy returned to work part-time as an immunization nurse and later as a foot care nurse, working until 2014 when the early onset of Alzheimer's prevented her from carrying on.
Cindy's family was everything to her. It was her driving force and motivation for her entire life. Cindy leaves us with no regrets because it was her time and only positive memories should dominate her departure.
The family would like to thank the loving and compassionate care she received over the past three years from committed care givers, especially Omesha, Lorieta and Mary. The family would also like to thank the staff at River Park Gardens. Although Cindy's stay was brief, the care she received was exceptional allowing Cindy to pass away peacefully and with dignity. Finally, the family would like to thank Dr. L. Hilderman who provided care and support to Cindy through all of her medical challenges.
In accordance with Cindy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will take place at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Rd., on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall.

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • Terry and I are saddened to learn of Cindy’s passing. I was a nurse friend of Cindy’s in the Post Partum E3 unit in the 1980s. We had a great team and we all shared a bond in those years. In 1989 Cindy had Ian and I had our Amy. Although we moved to Ontario in 1991, Cindy and I kept in touch for many years. However, I didn’t know about Cindy’s additional set backs starting in 2002, and for that I am further saddened for her and for you, Rob, and family. But I know that the courage Cindy had and the love she was able to share with you, will stay with you always. - Posted by: Karen Panchyshyn (Friend) on: Apr 15, 2022

  • Rob, Marc, Ian and the Earley family. Please accept our sincerest condolences for the loss of Cindy. It is so sad to lose her at such a young age but rest assured that the sweet life that your family shared will never leave you. Your memories will live forever. We will keep all of you in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time. - Posted by: Cathy Wright Curlew (Friend by marriage) on: Apr 14, 2022

  • Rob, Marc and Ian…Dennis and I are so sorry for your loss, our sincere condolences! I feel blessed to have been part of the “circle of friends” book club that Cindy started when Scott and Ian were in grade 3 (so many years ago). I treasured our times together very much. Although the last few years of her illness made it impossible for her to be at our meetings in person, know that she was and will always be with us in our hearts. Hugs to you all! xoxoxo - Posted by: Laura Campbell (Friend ) on: Apr 13, 2022

  • We wish to extend our most sincere sympathies to your family as you grieve the loss of Cindy! The loss of all that you once knew is past, but the wonderful woman that Cindy was will be treasured forever. Bill and Edith Earley raised a beautiful family and enjoyed their time in Erickson, and are fondly remembered. Though we are not with you at this time please know that Leona Smith wishes you comfort as you reminisce and say farewell to your sister, mother, and wife. • We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Cindy. While we didn't know her, we are close friends with Marc and Breanna, and based on the wonderful person he is, and what he has shared with us about Cindy, we know she was a loving mother to him and his brother, and that she'll be missed by her family and friends very much. Sending everyone our deepest condolences during such a difficult time. - Posted by: Danielle and Kevin Endl (Friends of Marc and Breanna ) on: Apr 13, 2022

  • I hired Cindy for her 1st nursing position and of course was happy I had. Cindy was a very competent and compassionate nurse. You were extremely lucky if you were fortunate enough to have Cindy look after you and your newborn in hospital. In the good old days, George and I always had a good time with Cindy and Rob having happy hour or a bonfire at West Hawk Lake. Cindy will always be missed. Our deepest sympathy to Rob and family. • To the Deniset family, so very saddened and heartsick to learn of Cindy's passing. Cindy was a valued tenured volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society during our community canvass! Single handed she would rally the volunteers in her area each year. I know the family would remember the many boxes of campaign material that lined the hallway! A true champion of the cancer cause, Cindy touched a lot of lives along the way and will be deeply missed! A dear dear soul I'm so very sorry she passed away! Rob, Marc & Ian take care of each other.
