ATHAIDE, Braz October 20, 1928 – April 7, 2022 It is with sadness we announce the passing of Braz. He will be missed by his children Marita (Herman), Judith (Haithem), Melba (Kelvin), Brian (Mary), his grand-children Dariana, Rhiannon, Narisse, Mihaela, Dylan, Brett, Serena, and Kaiella, his sister Leola, and extended family. Braz left an indelible mark as a founding member of "Helping Hands", Brandon's soup kitchen, and "Brandon's Food for Thought", a breakfast program for school children. Braz was the chief volunteer at Betty Gibson's breakfast program until he hung up his apron at the age of 82. Our thanks to the staff of Valleyview PCH, and the Assiniboine Center who cared for Braz, and supported his family, in the last weeks of his life. Braz donated his body to the University of Manitoba for medical research and training. A private celebration of life is planned. Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to the programs he supported.
