Mel, always reminded as a gentle giant when I worked with him at the Children’s Advocate office. He was a kind and always funny with his stories. May you rest in the arms of Jesus, Amen. - Posted by: Debra Swampy (Coworker ) on: Apr 21, 2022

I worked with Mel at the Health Authority when he was first diagnosed with Brain Cancer. It was such a hard, and trying time for him. I remember Mel as having a gentle personality, being easy going, and enjoying conversation. These traits made him the perfect co-worker. I also recall him often talking about his true passion the outdoors. He fought a brave fight, and I hope for him and his family to meet again further down the road… - Posted by: Gwen Milner (Co-worker) on: Apr 20, 2022

Mel was a rare gem and a wonderful friend. He was a gifted outdoorsman and a kind and gentle soul. He was a valuable colleague at the Children's Advocate and a generous mentor to myself and my son when setting up our own get away in the country. Mel, you will be missed!
