MISHA (MIKE) VINOKUR
Mike passed suddenly April 11, 2022, aged 74.
Survived by his wife, Louisa Williams, sister and brother-in-law, Zina and Jack Lazareck, nieces, Ada, Kim and nephew Cliff. Misha was predeceased by his parents, Leah and Raphael Vinokur.
He was born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania and immigrated with his family to Winnipeg in 1975. He was a very skilled watchmaker and even maintained the town clock tower in Vilnius. He was self employed as a jeweller and watchmaker immediately upon his arrival in Winnipeg as his skills were in demand. He purchased Friesen Jewellers on Selkirk Avenue upon the owner's retirement and later opened a second store in the Northgate Mall. Due to his welcoming nature and skill he always had customers looking to him for watch and jewellery repairs. Got to the point that he had to turn work away.
He was always happy to see you and was a very devoted husband, son, brother and uncle. His small family always came first.
Funeral services to be held graveside Monday, April 18, Shaarey Zedek Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
Donations can be made to charity of choice.
