PATRICIA ANN KAY
January 5, 1949 - April 12, 2022
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the untimely passing due to bacterial meningitis, of our beloved sister, aunt and loving friend on April 12, 2022. Pat passed peacefully at Concordia Hospital while surrounded by family.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Edith, and brother Daniel.
Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother Thomas (Janice), sister Anna (Alden), niece Kristin (Dave) nephew Stephen (Caroline) as well as her loving cousins, many friends from her time working at Air Canada and those involved in the arts community.
Pat was an exceptional cook and baker as her many friends and family can attest. Pat was a talented artist and had been an active member of Clifton Studios for several years. She was interested in all types of art and not afraid to attempt anything. Most recently she used her talent to produce detailed and realistic animal portraits on ceramic tile through the process of painting, layering, firing and re-firing. Pat leaves behind several beautiful pieces of art for us to cherish and remember her by.
Pat was also gifted musically. She was a talented piano player and had a beautiful singing voice. She also had a wonderful and quirky sense of humour.
We would like to thank all those who looked after Pat during this difficult time, especially the PANSU Unit at Concordia Hospital for the compassionate care shown to Pat.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's memory can be made to the charity of your choice.

My sincere condolences to Pat's family! She was such a lovely person! I met Pat later in life through her Art. We were connected in other ways. Edith, Pat's Mom and my Aunty Dorothy (Lauder) were childhood friends. Pat had made a beautiful set of angel wings for my Mom when she was in care with Alzheimers. They were broken in a move to another room and I was really upset because they meant so much. A few years later, Pat gave me another set that had a sentimental attachment for her. It meant so much to me and I was so touched by her generosity! I will cherish the pieces I bought at her art shows and the ones I bought for my granddaughters. She was a true light in this world. She was so kind and generous and I appreciated her wonderful sense of humour! I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Marnie Lumsden (Friend) on: Apr 27, 2022

Patty was my mother's close friend from childhood and I always enjoyed hearing stories about her immense talent, dazzling beauty and all the wonderful memories my mom had of her and their friendship. Recently Patty created a beautiful tile painting of our dog and I was so overjoyed with how she managed to capture his spirit in her painting. She is so very talented and I will always cherish the piece. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. - Posted by: Lauren Garcia (Friend of the family) on: Apr 26, 2022

Breaks my heart to hear that Pat has passed away so soon in her life. She was such a kind and gentle soul and she will be missed dearly. She always brought some goodies to work for all to share and I have a few recipes she gave me. She is in heaven with Jesus and his angels and her loved ones who are no longer with us. Heaven has been blessed by another special angel called Pat. Rest in peace our dear friend. With Love and Respect, Sylvia Bowen. - Posted by: Sylvia Bowen (Co-worker at Air Canada) on: Apr 23, 2022

Pat was the older sister of my friend Danny and his brother Tom and sister Anna who were also known to me. I always remember the love the family had for one another. I almost lost touch after leaving Winnipeg to move to Ottawa in 1992. (On a visit to Winnipeg a number of years ago) When my friends Roy Gabe and Bob Wilson and I took Danny to Ray and Jerry’s for lunch, for their famously huge Clubhouse sandwiches, Danny insisted on taking ½ of his home for his Mom. My deepest condolences to Pat’s family and friends. - Posted by: Gary Card (Family Friend) on: Apr 23, 2022

I worked with Pat at Air Canada and she was a fine lady and an amazing artist with a fun sense of humour. We shared lots of laughs and looked forward to her joining our coffee table always. Deepest sympathies to her family, especially Tom and Jan. - Posted by: Theresa Hunter (Air Canada Colleague) on: Apr 23, 2022
