Offer Condolences or Memory JANET WUZIUK
(SOBKOWICH) (nee FEDICK)
September 23, 1925 - April 15, 2022
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Janet on April 15, 2022, at the age of 96 years.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family: children: Patricia Solonyka, Jo-Anne Wuziuk, and Connie Dotten (Dale), daughter-in-law: Beverly Sobkowich, grandchildren: Frank (Gizelle), Christina, Joe (Carolyn), Tanya (Guy), and Matthew (Kira), great-grandchildren: Stephen, Hailey, Ryan, Alexander, Oliver, Demetrius, Ophelia, Jayde, and sister: Elsie Mysak, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Janet was predeceased by her parents - Anna Fedick (nee Martyniuk) and William Fedick; husbands - Joseph Wuziuk and Peter Sobkowich; sons - Frank Sobkowich Sr. and Stephen Sobkowich; daughter-in-law - Barbara Sobkowich; son-in-law - Edward Solonyka; brothers - John Fedick (Anne), Paul Fedick (Helen); sister - Natalie Faryon (Walt).
Janet left school at an early age to help on the family farm. She worked hard all her life caring for her family and friends. She was a cook at the Fred Douglas Lodge and an active member of Age and Opportunity at the Selkirk Senior Centre. She amazed everyone, especially the medical community, with her determination to live life on her own terms. She lived independently in her own home until she passed. She was very connected to nature and found peace there. She had an amazing artistic and perfectionist perspective. She loved to garden. She brought a lot of beauty into the world through her flowers and gardening. She loved the animals in her life, a childhood kitten and horse. Later in life, squirrels, rabbits and birds.
She will be fondly remembered and missed by many. Her best traits will live on through her family. She is now pain free, at peace and reunited with her loved ones who she has been missing.
Home was her refuge. Children her joy.
"God took the fragrance of a flower
The majesty of a tree
The gentleness of morning dew
The calm of a quiet sea
God took the beauty of the twilight hour
The soul of a starry night
The laughter of the rippling brook
The grace of a bird in flight
The tender care of an angel
The faith of the mustard seed
The patience of eternity
The depth of a family's need
Then God fashioned from these things
A creation like no other
And when His masterpiece was through
He simply called it Mother"
At Janet's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no service. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Special thanks to PRIME at the Deer Lodge Centre for their exceptional loving care and treating Janet like a family member of their own.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Janet's daughter, Jo-Anne, for her many years of caring for and supporting Janet in her own home.
Donations in Janet's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada and to PRIME at the Deer Lodge Centre.

I send my sincere condolences to Connie & Dale and to all of Janet's family. I have known Connie for many years and she always talked highly of her Mom. I hope you find peace in knowing she is pain free and with those loved ones that passed before her. - Posted by: Karen Schultz (Friend of Daughter) on: Apr 23, 2022
