LYNNE DIANNE SMITH

It is with great joy the family announce our dear mother has gone home to heaven to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on April 14, 2022 at the age of 76 years of age. Mom was loving, caring, humble and resilience in her daily life. We Love you mom.
Lynne was born in Montreal, Quebec on June 25, 1945. She was predeceased by her parents, Phyllis and Emerson Smith, two brothers and one sister. Survived by her three beloved sons, Corey (Trina), Chad (Nicole) and Craig (Whitney). 12 grandchildren whom she cherished very much, Felicia, Brianna, Serenity, Sophie, Greysen, Shayanne, Georgia, Troy, Trevor, Harvey, Isabelle and Elsie.
Mom graduated from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Montreal where she became a Registered Nurse. A job awaited her at the Children's Hospital shortly after. Mom married in 1970 and later divorced in 1982. She then returned to Brockville, Ontario and continued to keep in contact with her sons. After a long time apart, she returned back to Winnipeg in June 2006 to be closer to her boys and growing family. Mom said it brought her great joy when God had given her a miracle to be with her family!
Mom lived in Winnipeg 16 years; she was thrilled to see her grandchildren grow into young adults. They all brought grandma such great joy! Mom loved her outings to various events, listening to gospel music, reading, enjoyed her friendship with her three friends of 50 years. Mom's faith in her Jesus was her source of strength, her passion and for her family to know her Jesus.
Meaningful to mom was her two-home churches, Calvary Temple and Rowandale Baptist where it had been an important part of her life. She was involved in several activities at Calvary Temple, there she became stronger in her born-again Christian faith. Many thanks to Pastor Bruce Martin and pastor Jonathan Kroeker for the prayers as they were there for her during Covid-19 and after.
Mom's Celebration of Life service will be held in the Buntain Chapel at Calvary Temple on Friday April 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., 400 Hargrave Street, Winnipeg, MB. Pastor Bruce Martin officiating, followed by a light lunch. Burial at the Glen Lawn Cemetery - Garden of Devotions, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
In lieu of flowers or donations, requested by mom, can be made to Siloam Mission.
The family would like to thank the Voyage Funeral Home and Crematorium, Calvary Temple, Sanderson Funeral Home, those who have extended emotionally support during this time.

Mom will be greatly missed
as she touched many lives.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Lynne was my friend since 1965 in nursing school. We talked on the phone about every 3-4 months and exchanged long letters at Christmas. She was a lovely lady with a wonderful smile and laugh. She spoke about her 3 sons and their wives and families with love and pride. I am so sorry to hear the news of her passing but it is comforting to know that her 3 sons and families were able to be present to send her to Heaven. You all made here solemn wish come true for her. She loved you all so much. With heavy heart, I have learned of her passing on her birthday. Love you always friend .
