(EVA) ELEANORE REYNAUD

It is with very heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Eva Eleanore Reynaud on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at her home in Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
Eleanore was predeceased by her parents, Frank Reynaud in 1962 and her beloved mom, Kay Reynaud in 2021 at the age of 106. She leaves to mourn her partner of 45 years, John Jackson, her dogs, Katie and Rumour, as well as numerous friends and relatives.
Eleanore was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1951. She moved to Winnipeg with her mom; as a youngster Eleanore would spend her summers on the family farm in Saskatchewan, which fueled her love of animals. Following school, Eleanore held various positions at the City of Winnipeg Assessors Department then managing Sierra Courier at a time before fax machines and email. She spent a summer learning to fly planes.
In 1977 Eleanore met John and in 1986 joined John full time in running Jackson AutoSport.
Eleanore loved to travel and enjoyed cruises with her mom and many mother / daughter "gambling" junkets to local and nearby casinos. In the 1990s John and Eleanore spent time travelling throughout Central America, including a trip hi-lite of swimming with dolphins. Through Jackson AutoSport Eleanore became involved in car racing, competing in road racing, ice racing and auto slalom. One of her many accomplishments was setting a class lap record at Brainerd International Raceway that stood for six years.
In 1980 John and Eleanore welcomed a mischievous purebred golden retriever named Toby into their home, the start of a 42 year love affair with the breed. She was a lifetime member and treasurer of the Golden Retriever Club of Manitoba. Eleanore was a responsible and ethical breeder of dogs, breeding under the registered kennel name of Tikal Golden Retrievers. Her breeding efforts over several generations brought joy and love to many households. She competed with her dogs in conformation shows, agility trials and field tests. Every breeder has that one special dog over all of the others that steals their heart and for Eleanore that was Misty. The long wait is over, and Eleanore is sure to be mobbed by Misty and the crew at the Rainbow Bridge!
As per her wishes, there will be no service. Should you wish, donations can be made in Eleanore's name to Winnipeg Humane Society.
