CHRISTINE FOUILLARD

On April 11, 2022, Christine Fouillard passed away at the age of 91.
Christine was born January 21, 1931 in Winnipeg, MB to the late Mary Mostowy. At 15 months old she was adopted by Anne-Marie and Solomon Decaire. She had a wonderful childhood in Pinewood, ON. At the age of 18 she married the late Arthur Fouillard on May 24, 1950 and together they created a legacy of 10 children, 29 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
She loved accompanying her husband on his many business trips around the world. She was an active member of her community of St-Lazare, volunteering for many organizations. She was well known for her subtle acts of kindness and was always willing to lend a hand. She was a very generous, kind person with a wonderful sense of humour and a warm heart. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
Christine celebrated 46 years of sobriety on August 15, 2021 and was very proud of this accomplishment. She was very involved in the AA community and provided support and inspiration to many.
She enjoyed spending time with her ever-growing family and never lost hope that she would someday connect with her birth family. That dream became a reality in 2015 when she met her biological sister, Gerri.
Christine leaves in sadness her children, Danielle (James), Guy (Janet), Marcel (Jean), Mona (David), Mario (Rhonda), Juliette (Armand) and Joel. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Natalie, Emily, Sheila and Tommy, Jessica, Caroline and Laura, Micah, Jared and Chad, Melissa and Cassidy, Stefan, Gabrielle and Gena-Lea, Jason, Danielle, Aimee, Christian and Sarah, Suzanne, Jennifer and Aaron, Olivia, Dominique and Ross, Joey, Haylee and Carson; her sister Gerri, sisters-in-law, Helene, Rosemarie, Judi, Aline and Yvette.
Christine was predeceased by her husband Arthur, sons, Jean-Guy and Jacques and daughter Michele; her birth mother Mary, brother Jeffery, adoptive parents, Annemarie and Solomon Decaire, and her in-laws, Helene and Eugene Fouillard.
The family of Christine would like to send out a huge thank you to the Birtle Personal Care Home. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered, especially during the difficult time at the end. Mom enjoyed all the conversations she had with the staff and enjoyed the hugs as well.
Mom was laid to rest on April 19, 2022 beside her husband Arthur Fouillard at the St-Lazare cemetery.
