JOHN GEORGE KLASSEN
February 28, 1928 - April 26, 2022
John was born in Manitou, Manitoba to George and Elizabeth (Wiebe) Klassen, the youngest of six siblings.
He leaves to mourn, his wife Mary (Huebert), of 71 years, his children, Viola (Peter), Eric (Anne) and Irene (David deceased), seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a man of faith, loving, gentle, and kind. In the last years he never failed to tell us how much he loved us, his family.
John was an elementary school teacher for 36 years, teaching in various schools in Southern Manitoba and Winnipeg as well as teaching adult Sunday School for many years.
We are very grateful to the 2N staff of Donwood Manor for their compassionate care of our father.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the McIvor Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 200 McIvor Avenue, Winnipeg. Masks and vaccinations required.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Donwood Manor Foundation

Mr. Klassen was my grade 4 school teacher at Isaac Brock School. I remember giving him a chocolate cross for Easter. I also leaned in and said "Ich liebe dich". He was a wonderful teacher and showed a lot of interest in his students. "Well done thy faithful servant." Rest in peace.
