Dr. Cahoon was my Corrosion Engineering professor and my thesis advisor. I now reflect over the passage of time and realize what a truly kind man he was. Most generous with his time, his knowledge, and words of wisdom to a young man about to start his professional career. My sincerest condolences to his family. (There are hundreds, if not thousands, of students just like myself who learned from Dr. Cahoon... his positive impact on the lives of many is immeasurable.) - Posted by: Derek Da Silva (Student) on: Nov 12, 2022

It is with the greatest sorrow that I learned of my colleague, Dr. Jack Cahoon's passing! I cannot think of any other senior staff at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering who have been more helpful, more supportive, or have offered their knowledgeable guidance to me. I recall Jack's friendly advice. I fondly remember our missions to countries in Asia. I recall, with some trepidation, the moments when Jack would ask me to take over the controls of the aircraft we would be flying out of St. Andrews airport! It is truly a sad moment when a person, a good friend, an excellent colleague, leaves us for the other world. My wife Tetyana and I, would like to express or sincerest sympathies to Pat, Jack's wife! Dear Jack: Thank You! May You Rest in Peace! Ostap Hawaleshka Emeritus Professor University of Manitoba - Posted by: Ostap Hawaleshka (Colleague and Friend) on: May 02, 2022

Jack was the father to one of my son's best friends. They had been friends since early school years and remain friends today. My sincerest condolences to the family. Fond memories will ease the pain. Marilynne Martin (mother of Robert) - Posted by: Marilynne Martin (Friend) on: May 02, 2022
