Never responded before but I worked at Reimer Express Lines or REL during and after Phil's time at the company. I could be wrong but I recall him breaking an ankle and talking to him in the dispatch while he was waiting to come off sick leave for his ankle. Just another guy whose name I never forgot as well as Larry Pachowxki who was with him on that tragic day along with the Mill Creek guys at Wabigoon, Ontario. Just regular guys working and to let family know they were good happy go lucky guys taken before there time. I believe I was headed for Toronto that night 🌙 from Winnipeg and someone said very bad company accident past Dryden. A few crosses were put up at the accident site and I saw those crosses for a good decade before coming off the highway.
