VICTORIA HOSHOWSKI
On Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the age of 95, Victoria Hoshowski passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda (Warren), daughter-in-law Marianne and daughter-in-law Debbie; grandchildren: Erika, Corey (Sheryl), Jennifer (Richard), Lisa (Mike and great-granddaughter Annie), Jason (Brittany and son Cameron) and Wayne; she is also survived by sister-in-law Anne Kis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Victoria was predeceased by Michael, her loving husband of 31 years in 1983. Also, her grandson Matthew in 2004, her son Walter in 2018, her son Gary in 2021. As well she was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Pearl Kiss, she was also the last remaining sibling to four brothers and four sisters.
Victoria was born in Sarto, MB on April 2, 1927, and lived most of her adult life in St. Martin, MB where her and her husband Mike had a farm and raised their family. She was a proud, hard-working lady who had amazing strength and determination. Her energy frequently seemed to have no end. She was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage; she was a dedicated homemaker and a fabulous cook and baker with her specialties being perogies and cabbage rolls. No one ever left her place hungry! She always loved to have fun whether it was getting together with her siblings, travelling, enjoying a shot of whiskey, dancing a polka at a gathering, playing bingo, knitting, or gardening.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home (Unit 1) for the great care they provided to Victoria. We're especially grateful to the friends and family that kept in touch with her these last few years. She loved the cards and the visits.
Viewing will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy. 52 West, Steinbach, MB with the funeral service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Victoria's memory to the Tuxedo Villa Recreation Department.
Rest in Peace Mom and Baba.

My deepest condolences to Linda, Marianne, and Debbie and their families on the loss of your mom and mother-in-law. She was a very special lady and I have many memories of visits to St. Martin and when she would come to Winnipeg. She was a great cook who loved family coming for visits. I have many fond memories of the visits. May she rest in peace. Carol Chornopyski - Posted by: Carol Chornopyski (Niece) on: May 08, 2022
