BUD RAYMOND KOTELKO
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our dear father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Bud Kotelko, on Friday, April 29, 2022.
Father to daughters, Rhonda and Nadine (Chris), grandfather to Jai, Kasi, and Von. Loving brother to Stephanie Berty (Milton), Lorraine Minaker, and Myron (Alice) Kotelko, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by parents, Fred and Anna (nee Charko), infant brother Terry, sister Myra, brothers-in-law, Gordon Langrell and Dave Minaker, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bud was born September 7, 1947 in Winnipeg, MB to Fred and Anna Kotelko. He was raised on the farm in Warren, where he spent his entire life. Bud could do many things; he was a welder and mechanic by trade, but also made a living working construction with his brother, Myron, for many years. Bud had a passion for music and the great outdoors. In his spare time, he could be found fishing, hunting, hosting skeet-shoots and drumming alongside his band - Interlake Ramblers. During the summer, you could find Bud riding his lawnmower or in the shop working; when the shop doors were open the kids knew they had an open invitation to join him.
Bud had tremendous admiration for his family. It is often said, where you found his brother, Myron, Bud wasn't far behind. Bud's pride and joy was his daughter Nadine - a true Daddy's girl, his son-in-law, Chris, who quickly became the son he never had, and their three children. Bud derived a great deal of pleasure from visiting Nadine's family in Whitehorse, Yukon where he was able to spend quality time hunting moose and bison with Chris and Nadine, restoring Jai's car, helping Kasi with her quad, and attending Von's dance recitals. Bud truly showed unconditional love and kindness to his family and dear friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
A special thank you to the home care workers of the Interlake Regional Health Authority for your compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on the site of the Kotelko farm on Sunday, June 19. Please contact Christine (204-995-3719) or Teri (204-461-1382) for additional details.
