Condolences & Memories (1 entries)
Julie was my landlady when I lived in their 3 storey revenue home at 454 Burrows Avenue in Winnipeg. This was when Burrows Avenue just off Salter was a good, safe place to live and Selkirk avenue had many high end dress shops. She was a lovely quiet lady who many times invited me for dinner when I was a single girl living in a 3 room suite above theirs. She would beg me to go shopping with her down Selkirk Avenue to buy a new dress. She always wanted my opinion on whether she looked nice in it. I remember that she worked in the recovery room in HSC which was then called the Winnipeg General Hospital. It was a good place for her to work as she was a very kind, compassionate lady. She cried when I got married as she felt she would not see me again and such was the case. They moved to a new home on Nolana place in Garden city later from their 4 suite revenue home on Burrows. She was often in my mind and I regret not visiting her after I married. God bless you, Julie, you were always in my heart. Your long ago renter, Kathy. - Posted by: Kathy Krawchuk Fecio (Friend) on: May 07, 2022
