I was shocked and saddened to learn of Betty”s recent passing , another nursing friend let me know. Betty was the best nurse I knew and worked with in my 39 year nursing career, so I think that says a lot. I considered her my mentor at the clinic, and I constantly learned from her, and I had such deep admiration for her . We shared stories , and I got to meet her Mom several times at MCC. I also had the pleasure of seeing her doll collection at her beautiful home many years ago , she asked me to bring our daughter Katrina for the tea and visit. Betty had a keen sense of humour , and also , she had so much compassion. I wish I could have had one more visit with her when she moved to Victoria , I had always planned and hoped to do that. Betty appreciated the simple things in life ; a good cup of tea , a warm bath, a good book to read , and her garden. Betty always had an unconditional positive regard for all people who came to Mount Carmel Clinic for health care or help of any kind. Betty will always be in my memory , she was the triage nurse that made Mount Carmel a special place , and I had the privilege to work along side her for several years - at the triage desk at MCC. Betty and I were coworkers and triaged at MCC on Main St.for many years. Although she was a private person she was very kind and considerate and easy to work with. She got along with everyone and never had an unkind word for or about anyone. Her family was everything to her and spoke proudly of her sons, Rob and Jason. My husband and I had the fortune of meeting Betty and Bob for lunch in a resturant in Victoria,B.C. many years later after retirement and will always cherish our time together. - Posted by: Chris (Coworker) on: May 20, 2022

Betty and Pete were our neighbors on Autumnlea Path until they moved to East St Paul. We did keep in contact for a while but like everyone knows for some reason you loose contact, when do not see each other as much. They were awesome neighbors we had a lot of fun together. I would spend some days having coffee and cookies with Betty. Our kids were young so we where not into the wine yet. You would find Roy and Pete having a beer and stinky cheese. Betty you where a awesome Wife, Mom, Grandmother and Friend. Rest in Peace. Our condolences to Rob Jason and there Families.
