It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Marcelo (Chelo) P. Olea on April 30, 2022 at the age of 72. He passed away at Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in the Philippines, son of the late Benito and Juanita Olea. He was predeceased by his wife Josefina (2016), and brothers Sancho and Guillermo.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved son Marlon (Raisa), granddaughter Josie, grandson Malakai and pet Princess. He is survived by his dear siblings, Rosalina, Lydia, Marcelia, Epitacio, Steve (Nida) as well as his nieces, nephews, their spouses, great-grandnieces and nephews, numerous relatives and friends with whom he had a special bond with. He will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.
The viewing/lamay service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 and Saturday May 14, 2022 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 445 Lagimodiere Blvd.
Funeral mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Monday, May 16, 2022, at St. Edward's Church, 836 Arlington St, Winnipeg MB R3E 2E4.
Interment will take place after the mass, at Garden of Prayer, Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Winnipeg, MB.
A gathering with family and friends will follow. Reception to be announced.
For those unable to attend in person, the family wishes to invite you to join them through livestream.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre for helping Marcelo in his last hours.
