BONITA MIRIAM GUREVICH
(nee SWEIDEN)
February 6, 1946 - May 8, 2022
With broken hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Bonnie Gurevich, peacefully at her home in North Vancouver, BC, on May 8, 2022, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Richard, she will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Rhonna and Michael, sister Jackie, granddaughter Raphaela, and numerous friends and extended family members she leaves behind.
After almost 60 years in Winnipeg raising a family and growing a successful business, Bonnie and Richard retired to North Vancouver and Marco Island, Florida. Bonnie easily built new communities of friends in both places, as everyone who knew her was touched by her kindness, generosity, humility, curiosity, and sense of humour. Although she didn't readily admit it, she relished the adventures she experienced in her travels around the world with her family. Bonnie dedicated much of her life to supporting her family in countless ways, taking great pride in her children and granddaughter, who all brought her immense joy.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Lion's Gate Hospital Foundation at https://lghfoundation.com/

I met Bonnie at a swim class at the Marco Island YMCA, atleast 15+years ago. We became good friends & my husband & I even visited & stayed at her house in Vancouver. She & Richard even attended our daughter's wedding in 2013. Luckily, I was fortunate to have had lunch with her Feb 15,2022, before her health took a turn. I will miss her dearly, and will remember all the lunches, shopping trips and time we spent together, especially bragging about our grandchildren; her granddaughter Rafaela & my grandson Max, born a few months apart. We had hoped to "match" them up one day. Rest in peace my friend. Love, Nora - Posted by: Nora Joel (Friend) on: May 24, 2022

Please accept my deep condolences on the passing of Bonnie. I know the sadness you must feel as I lost my husband Chris, to Cancer, almost 2 years ago. One of your neighbors contacted me to pass the news and shared Richard had also passed a few years ago. Belated condolences as well. May both Rest In Peace and the good memories of them live forever. 🙏🙏 Sincerely, Mary Schouw - Posted by: Mary Schouw (Friend) on: May 19, 2022

So sorry to hear of this and saddened by the news. I knew Bonnie and later Richard in the late'60s/early 70s. We'd worked together as 'summer students' at the Manitoba Health Services Commission. We dubbed ourselves as 'Sam and Eric'. And had so many laughs that I remember and still chuckle about. Oh, I am so sorry to hear that Bonnie has passed. She was all the things that are said of her above - kind, generous, very loving. Her love and devotion to Richard and to her children and Jackie was palpable and ever-present. She was a good neighbour and friend. May her memory be for a blessing always. - Posted by: Terri Cherniack (family friend) on: May 12, 2022
