Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • We just learned of this sad news. Our love and prayers to you Betty and the family. He was a gentleman in every way. Absent from here, present with the Lord and all those who have gone before. The Lord God be your ever present strength in the days ahead. Love - Posted by: Grace, Gus Kokoschke (aquaintence from church) on: Jun 01, 2022

  • Dr. Griggs was one of the most compassionate and dignified doctors I have had the pleasure of working with over my 3+ decades. He was always "on-call" demonstrating a willingness to share his expertise and time in helping residents, patients, and staff in what seems like every Personal Care Home in Winnipeg and the community of Winnipeg itself. Dr Griggs always had a documented treatment plan; invaluable when working in a team environment and extremely appreciated by all. He never consulted a specialist and not follow their suggestions/recommendations. He would often say, "Why ask for help if you are not going to follow through?" He was the consummate team player demonstrating a healthy level of respect for all members of the multidisciplinary care team thereby garnering the love and respect of all. A class act; he will be well-missed. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Dr Lois Stewart-Archer (Consultant) on: May 27, 2022

  • I am saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Griggs, and offer my sincere condolences to his family. I first worked with him many years ago at Grace Hospital, and later in Long Term Care. He was highly esteemed and regarded for his quiet ways, professionalism and kindness. No request was ever a bother; and I have good memories of him sporting a big smile whilst bringing Donuts on his rounds in the Winter , for staff to enjoy on their break. Rest in Peace Dr. Griggs and God Bless you. Sincerely, Nurse: Vernie Price. - Posted by: Vernie Price (Nurse) on: May 25, 2022

  • I had the privilege of working with Dr. Griggs for many years at DLC. He was probably one of the nicest, caring, compassionate, and intelligent Drs I've worked with during my nursing career. He was very respectful to the residents and staff. He never made you feel like anything was a bother. He was always up on the latest current trends for medicine. He always spoke very highly of his family and always had a smile on his face. He was a true gentleman. He will be missed. RIP Dr Griggs ❤ - Posted by: Brenda Kupchik (Nurse at Deer Lodge ) on: May 14, 2022
