DAVID JAMES SMITH
September 18, 1948 - May 2, 2022

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dave, on Monday, May 2, 2022.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Laura. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife Carolin; his son Neal (Krista); and extended family. He will also be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him; he made everyone around him feel special. He had an amazing optimistic outlook on life even throughout his illness. Dave was very comforting, great attitude, a lot of dignity and a real sense of humour. His loved ones will be forever guided in the years to come.
Dave was born and raised in Winnipeg. He loved nature and all types of animals, domestic and wildlife. When he was in good health, Dave loved his job as a paramedic with the Winnipeg Ambulance Service.
Special thank you to our family physician Dr. JG Sutherland for his exceptional care and compassion he showed over many years. I also would like to give a special thank you to nurse Yemmi and the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Palliative Care at the St. Boniface Hospital.
As per Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place. By his request a service will not be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to CancerCare of Manitoba.
