ELLI PETERS
December 18, 1930 - May 4, 2022

Our Mom, beloved 'Oma,' has found her peace. She will be lovingly remembered and now reunite with her family and many friends that predeceased her.
Elli is survived by her husband Heinz; children, Dennis (Christine) and Rosita (John).
Mom was born in Poland (East Prussia) to parents, Reinhard and Alwina Weihs of German descent. Her family would endure many struggles and tragic events of war and hatred. They would flee westward and later, felt VERY fortunate to immigrate to Canada in 1951.
Married to Heinz for 68 years - to him she was devoted to a fault. An amazing homemaker, who kept a meticulous house. Mom was the 'queen of hospitality' expressing her joy and love through her exquisite cooking and baking. From basement parties to 'gatherings,' the feasts were so delicious and abundant... "Have some more!"
She retained her ability to speak three languages. Oma cherished her grandchildren, Bradley and Brittany, Krystyr and Kira - loved them with all of her heart. Mom 'put others first,' always giving more than receiving. A truly selfless gem!
We wished for Mom to 'live it up' a little more at lovely Amber Meadow Assisted Living. Unfortunately, Mom would continue to endure struggles - severe arthritic pain and other chronic ailments. With her personal strength and much resolve, Mom directed her final health care wishes to "comfort". She was yet able to express her "love of everybody" and many "good-byes." This brought comfort to us all. You had such a big heart and were special to everyone. As well, Mom, you were worthy.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held.
