DEBORAH (DEBBY) LORRAINE BULLEN
December 26, 1951 - May 6, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Debby Bullen, age 70, on May 6, 2022, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
Debby is survived by her mother, Marion Windatt, brother, Roger Windatt (Janet), daughter, Meaghan Bullen, and grandson, Jayden Dornbush. Debby was predeceased by her father, Gordon Windatt.
Debby was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, growing up in River Heights. After attending Kelvin High School, Debby attended Red River College where she graduated in 1971 with a degree in Laboratory Technology. Debby briefly moved to Brockville, Ontario before returning to Winnipeg where she met her future husband, Doug Bullen in 1974. Doug and Debby ventured to BC together for a couple of years before returning to Winnipeg, where they were married in 1976. Doug and Debby moved to Lorette, Manitoba where together they built their home and raised their daughter Meaghan. While raising their daughter Meaghan, they enjoyed time spent with family and friends, camping, and their German Shepherds.
Doug and Debby went their separate ways in 2009, where Debby moved to Winnipeg, MB, and retired from her long-standing career soon after.
Debby worked as a laboratory technologist at Victoria General Hospital for over 30 years where she took pride in her career. In later years, Debby enjoyed travelling, volunteering at Assiniboine Park Zoo, and spending time with her grandson Jayden.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Clinical Assessment Unit at Health Sciences Centre, where Debby spent her final days, in addition to the staff at the Boulton Retirement Community. The kindness, attentiveness, and vigilance has been noticed and immensely appreciated, heartfelt gratitude to you all.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue at Lanark Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. All are welcome and encouraged to attend to celebrate and acknowledge Debby's life.
In lieu of flowers and donations, the family encourages you spend time with your loved ones at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. Debby enjoyed her time spent there, particularly in the polar bear exhibit. A bench has been adopted in her honour at the entrance to Journey to Churchill.
If you have any memories or photos of Debby that you would like to share with the family, please email meaghanbullen@gmail.com
