ANNE KASDORF March 17, 1933 - April 3, 2022 Anne Kasdorf, aged 89, of Steinbach, Manitoba, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Eastview Personal Care Home, Altona. She is survived by her two daughters Ruth (Alvin), and Martha, two sons David (Lesley), and Henry (Tanya), one sister Erna Nickle (Ray) and nine grandchildren: Tiffani, Nolan, Kristen, Shayna, Braden, Mackenzie, Joshua, Bauer, and Jace and three great-grandchildren Kaybrie, Harlow and Kampton. She is predeceased by her husband John Kasdorf and one granddaughter Jennifer. Anne was born on March 17, 1933, at the St. Boniface Sanitorium in Winnipeg because her mother was being treated for Tuberculosis. She spent the first two years of her life with family friends The Bergens as her father was busy with the family farm and raising the other children. After her mother passed away, she was brought onto the farm as her dad had promised to bring the family back together. She grew up with her siblings on a farm near Niverville. Anne met her husband John and they married at the Niverville church on July 22, 1956. They moved to Steinbach and built a life there. Anne worked at the Steinbach Sewing Factory for the first few years of their marriage. She had four children which became her life. She was always involved in their lives, cooking, cleaning, cheering on her boys at hockey and watching school plays and concerts. Her love for her children and family life was evident in everything she did. Anne volunteered at school, sewed clothes and was very active in the Food Committee at church. Yet she always had time to bake fresh lemon buns or make donuts after four, for her kids and their friends. This love of children continued as she became a grandma. She babysat, watched hockey games, took grandkids to Tinkertown or out for lunch. She loved being part of their lives. Her faith and reliance on God was evident through out her life. It was especially important to her as she faced the many health challenges these last few months. Mom you can breathe easy now you are at peace in Heaven with dad. You will be greatly missed by all of us left here. The viewing will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with a short devotional to follow. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, with interment to follow at Steinbach Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Special thank you to the staff at the Eastview Resthaven for the great care they provided.
