March 16, 1976 - May 10, 2022

After a fearless battle with cancer, it is with great sadness and heavy hearts we share the peaceful passing of Julie, with immediate family at her side.
Julie is survived by her loving husband of 20 years Cory; and their children, Hayden (16) and Hannah (12); Tilly (family dog); her parents, Harold and Vivianne; and brother Chris Stoneham; including numerous relatives and friends.
Julie was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. She possessed an affinity for nature, animals, music, art, dancing and sometimes acting silly. Her heart was brimming full of love and laughter for all things fun! Her infectious smile made friends everywhere she went. Her kind and caring manner left touching impressions to all that knew her.
Many colleague friendships blossomed throughout her near 22 year teaching career within the Louis Riel School Division. The family thanks everyone for their exceptional support during this difficult time.

"Forever in our hearts, gone too soon but never forgotten, we love you Julie."

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at TC Energy Centre, 1 Rivard St., Ile des Chêne, MB.
In lieu of arrangements, please donate to charity of choice.

  • Julie and I went to elementary school together. She was always kind and friendly to everyone. Such a sweet individual who always had a little grin on her face. I’m sorry to hear of her passing and give my condolences to her family. - Posted by: Maddie Laberge (Friend ) on: May 23, 2022

  • Julie was my mentor during my teaching practicum. We spent nearly a year teaching together at Van Belleghem and I learned so much from her. We hit it off immediately and became very close during our time together. She had the sweetest soul. She was so open, caring and an amazing listener. We laughed and cried together over many bags of Mini Eggs and crappy coffee from Mac’s across the street. We kept in touch sporadically over the years. I am so sad to hear of her passing and my heart goes out to her family, Cory and the kids, everyone whose lives were touched by her - as I was lucky enough to be a part of her life for a short while and feel her loss so deeply. My sincerest condolences <3 - Posted by: Kimberly Strickland (Student teacher) on: May 22, 2022

  • I am so very saddened to learn of Julie's passing. I had the honour of knowing her as a young high school student, filled with promise, and also as a young teacher who was admired and appreciated by children, parents, and colleagues. Julie's premature passing is difficult to accept and understand. My thoughts are with Cory and the children, with Julie's parents, her brother Chris, and other family members and close friends. I hope that the memories of this kind and beautiful person will fill your hearts with some comfort in the hard days ahead. - Posted by: Terry Borys (High School Principal) on: May 22, 2022

  • Julie was such a special person. Her love for others knew no bounds, from her students and colleagues, to her family and friends, to her children Hayden and Hanna and pets, and her husband Cori. She was always thinking of others and was dedicated to helping others and being an amazing role model. I had the pleasure of working closely with her for a year, but remaining friends with her ever since. And although we didn't see each other as often as we would have liked, whenever we got together it was like we hadn't skipped a beat. She was the best listener and we could talk for hours on end. Julie always made me feel special, supported and loved. She was an amazing soul with a contagious smile and she was taken from this world much too soon. But the influence she had on the lives of those she touched remains as she will live on within us forever. I will miss you dearly my friend. Heartfelt condolences go out to her family during this tragic time. Hugs and prayers to Cory, Hayden, Hanna and Tillie. - Posted by: Tara Berthelette (Friend and colleague ) on: May 22, 2022
