LEONARD FREDERICK METRO
July 1, 1951 - May 19, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonard Metro on May 19, 2022.
He was predeceased by his youngest son Richard; his parents, John and Irene and his brother John. He leaves behind to morn his passing his wife Karen; son Len; daughter Leisa (Chris); Michaela; grandsons, Jan (Amanda), Steven (Stephanie); granddaughters, Destiny, Samantha, Rachael; great-granddaughter Emmalina; sister Johann, brother Don (Barb), sister Linda (Ray) and many nieces, nephews and their families.
His greatest love was his family and then came his love for working in the trucking industry. Over his 50 years in trucking, he made many lifelong friends as he tried his hand at driving logging trucks in BC, to moving gravel and then in his semi-retirement, he did long haul driving.
When Len wasn't working, he spent his free time with family, in the summer enjoying bonfires and barbeques and spending time at the dragstrip in Gimli, in winter attending hockey games or watching from home with his famous bowl of popcorn.
Cremation has taken place and as per Lens wishes, there will be no service. Interment will take place at a later date.
"Your presence we miss,
Your memories we treasure,
Loving you always,
Forgetting you never."
Condolences may be let on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
