LORNE WESA

With sadness, we have to share that Lorne Keith Wesa passed away at Grace Hospital on May 19, 2022, at the age of 69, after a short illness.
Lorne was born in Transcona February 14, 1953 to Mary (Gosselin) and Adam Wesa, younger brother to Sherry.
Graduating from Murdoch MacKay Collegiate in 1972, Lorne lived the majority of his life in Transcona.
Lorne loved cheering on his Winnipeg Jets, Bombers, and Goldeyes. He loved all animals - especially his kitties Bear and Storm. He loved his family and friends! His smile and laugh were contagious, and his quick wit (with a healthy dose of sarcasm) would make your day better.
Lorne kept up with many friends from his childhood, and worked for many years in Security at Club Regent Casino, where he made many more long-time friends.
We are certain he is now safely and lovingly embraced by his parents and sister, who have welcomed him home.

Rest easy, Lorne - we love you.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Sorry to hear of Lorne’s passing. He was our girls baseball coach over 40 years ago. Taught me and my friend how to drive. We had so many laughs! Although we lost touch, I still have many fond memories of Lorne. May he Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Mona-Lisa (Friend) on: May 29, 2022

  • I started working with Lorne back in 2000 when I joined the security team at Club Regent casino. Lorne always had a joke to share or a story that always had you laughing by the time he finished. He was a kind and compassionate man who was always there to listen when you needed someone just to listen and of course always made you feel better when you were finished talking to him. Rest in Peace my friend and say hi to Troy for me. - Posted by: Laurie Price (Friend) on: May 29, 2022

  • I worked with Lorne at the casino for many years. I also grew up in T-cona so we got along like a house on fire! He had a way about him when dealing with people that was caring, humorous and yet firm, depending on situation of course. I kept in contact with him and enjoyed his jokes and wisdom He will be missed. My deepest condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones. - Posted by: Cynthia Perrick (friend/coworker) on: May 29, 2022

  • Lorne used to live across the back lane from me and my Dad in Transcona. He was my hockey coach too for a few years when I was 12 or 13 in the early 90’s. He was a great coach and an even better person. Rest In Peace Lorne. - Posted by: Colin Carriere (He coached me) on: May 28, 2022
